Explanation:
The Broward County Marine Advisory Committee is accepting grant proposals for the Broward County Enhanced Marine Law Enforcement Grant. The purpose of the Broward County Enhanced Marine Law Enforcement Grant program is to improve boating safety in Broward County by providing funds for the enhancement of Marine Law Enforcement and education. The City of Hollywood desires to promote and enhance the safe and pleasurable use of the navigable waterways within the City. The City of Hollywood desires to protect and preserve the natural and man-made marine resources available throughout the City. It is understood that by the submission of the grant proposal, the City of Hollywood will abide by the terms and conditions set forth by the Broward County Marine Advisory Committee for use of said grant funds.
The Acting Chief of Police for the City of Hollywood, Florida recommends that the appropriate City Officials apply for the Fiscal Year 2018/2019 Enhanced Marine Law Enforcement and Education Grant for the enhancement of Marine Law Enforcement and education in order to preserve and promote the safe and pleasurable use of the navigable waterways within the City of Hollywood in the approximate amount of $60,040.00, and further recommends the acceptance and execution of said grant upon its award.
