Explanation:
The Department of Public Works and the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts, require an agreement with a qualified vendor for the purchase of various fertilizers and related chemicals used in the normal maintenance of turf grasses and landscaped areas.

The required commodities were competitively bid by the Town of Davie, Florida Bid Number B-17-124, acting as the lead agency for the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Group Cooperative, and awarded to Diamond R Fertilizer, SiteOne Landscape Supply, LLC, Residex, LLC, Helena Chemical Company, Howard Fertilizer, Inc., and Harrell's, LLC for an initial three (3) year period beginning on August 17, 2017 and ending on August 16, 2020, with no renewal options.

Section 38.46 of the City of Hollywood Code of Ordinances provides that the Director shall have the authority to join with other governmental entities in cooperative purchasing plans when the best interests of the city would be served thereby.

The Director of Public Works, the Director of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts, and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of the attached blanket purchase orders to Diamond R Fertilizer ($2,500.00), SiteOne Landscape Supply LLC ($5,000.00), Residex LLC ($25,000.00), Helena Chemical Company ($25,000.00), Howard Fertilizer, Inc.($6,500.00), and Harrell's LLC ($9,000.00) for the purchase of vari...
