Staff Recommends:  Approval of the Attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc. (HACC) has the capability of providing cultural services to the public through its visual arts, performing arts and educational programming.

 

HACC has been providing cultural services and has been a recipient of previous appropriations for such services.

 

FY2017 funding assisted in supporting nine education programs that provided more than 100 unique curriculum-based activities for all ages, including 18 sessions of Summer Arts Camp for ages 3-15; 9 exhibitions in the Student Gallery; and three unique sessions of the Teen Arts Ambassadors program that resulted in more than 2,300 hours of volunteer and program activity; and programming also included 14 contemporary exhibitions and 16 gallery events.

 

The City of Hollywood is desirous of entering into a new agreement with HACC to provide said services for fiscal year 2018.

 

Funding for the programming services has been appropriated and exists in Account No.01.3167.00000.572.003117.
