Explanation:
A Request for Proposal was issued in August 2017, by the City’s Benefits Consultant, the Gehring Group, for medical and prescription drug stop loss insurance coverage. Other stand-alone stop loss proposals were not found to be as competitive as the Cigna proposal, as it includes claims administration services paired with stop loss coverage, which provides an advantage. Therefore, the attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to implement a one-year agreement for Stop Loss Insurance between Cigna and the City of Hollywood for a Not To Exceed amount of 110% of $1,045,283.00.
