Explanation:
The Department of Information Technology requires annual maintenance on the City's Fire House Alerting Control Stations, Computer Aided Dispatch software, and subscriber units and resolution R-2016-350 approved the twelve (12) month agreement between Motorola Solutions, Inc. and the City of Hollywood for maintenance of Fire House Alerting Control Stations installed at each of the City's fire stations and Computer Aided Dispatch software for the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.
On September 1, 2016, the fourth amendment to the agreement by and between Scott J. Israel, as Sheriff of Broward County, and Motorola Solutions, Inc. was adopted for the acquisition of services and equipment from Motorola Solutions, Inc. The subscriber units (local government and public safety radios) were covered under the manufacturer's three (3) year warranty, which expired on December 1, 2016 and require an annual maintenance agreement to be serviced.
The attached agreement provides onsite maintenance for the equipment and software required by the City's Public Safety users to connect to the Broward County Regional Communications Computer Aided Dispatch and Radio System for a period of October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018, and staff has deemed it necessary that Motorola Solutions continue to provide such onsite maintenance. The subscriber equipment and software is manufactured and maintained by Motorola Solutions, Inc.
