Explanation:
The City of Hollywood through the General Fund Agency Grant program historically provides financial assistance to non-profit organizations serving Hollywood residents. The grant's purpose is to assist in funding programs which provide significant benefits to the Hollywood citizens via non-profit organizations whose programs align with one or more of the following eight (8) areas of concentration:

1. Art and music
2. Education concentrated in the areas of math and science
3. Health, wellness and nutrition
4. Shelter and housing
5. Respite care and services
6. Diversity and cultural outreach
7. Training and career planning / development
8. Veteran services.

On March 29, 2017, a review of the twenty (20) applications received for FY 2018 funding was conducted by the Community Development Advisory Board, with the recommendation that the General Fund Agency Grant program be continued and funds awarded to the non-profit organizations as listed in Exhibit 1. And, on April 6, 2017, a joint meeting was held with the Community Development Advisory Board and the City of Hollywood City Commission where the funding recommendations were reviewed.
