Explanation:
The City of Hollywood and Florida East Coast Railway, L.L.C. (FEC), have throughout the years entered into several License Agreements, by which FEC grants the City License to provide public roadway crossings across its property and railways. The License Agreements require the City to pay for the periodic maintenance of the roadway crossings and equipment, with the FEC reserving the right to perform the work and seek reimbursement from the City.

Notice of Intent for the scheduled reconstruction of the Taft Street and Monroe Street crossings was first issued to the City by FEC on July 22, 2016, with an estimated cost of $118,853.03 for each location, resulting in a total estimated cost in the amount of $237,706.06. The City received notification from FEC on June 21st, 2017 indicating that the work is anticipated to commence at the Taft Street crossing on August 22nd, 2017, and at the Monroe Street crossing on August 27th, 2017. The work was completed the week of August 28th. An invoice for the full actual associated costs will subsequently be submitted to the City by FEC upon completion of their project close out with contractors.
