Title
A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Approving And Authorizing The Termination Of The Agreement With Ballard Partners For State Lobbying Services.
Body
Staff Recommends: Approval of Resolution
Explanation:
Pursuant to Resolution R-2014-250, the City Commission authorized City Officials to negotiate and execute an agreement with Sayfie Law Firm for state lobbying services. Mr. Sayfie then joined Ballard Partners and a Novation Agreement was approved through Resolution R-2016-003 on January 5, 2016.
On September 18, 2017, staff was informed that Mr. Sayfie would be relocating to Washington D.C. to provide federal lobbying services for Ballard Partners and would no longer provide state lobbying services to the City of Hollywood.
The agreement provides that the City has the right to terminate the Agreement with or without case. Under Section 38.48 (A) of the Code of Ordinance, the City Commission must authorize the termination of a contract when it is without cause and such decision requires at least a 5/7ths affirmative vote.
