Explanation:
The Water Treatment Plant Division of the Department of Public Utilities requires the purchase of pebble (rice) size quicklime used in the treatment process of the spiractor water softening plant.
The required quicklime was competitively bid by the City of Tamarac, Florida who acted as the lead agency on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group which the City of Hollywood is a member.
The City of Tamarac, Florida's Bid Number 17-22B was opened on July 11, 2017 and was awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder by line item, Lhoist North America of Alabama LLC for an initial term of three (3) years with the option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.
Lhoist North America of Alabama LLC is currently providing these services to the City in a satisfactory manner.
The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance Officer recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of the attached Blanket Purchase Order agreement for rice size quicklime to Lhoist North America of Alabama LLC in an estimated annual amount of $506,000.00.
