Explanation:

The City of Hollywood, has established Local Housing Assistance Plans pursuant to Chapter 160, City of Hollywood Code of Ordinances.

 

The Local Housing Assistance Plans have been created to support owner-occupied housing rehabilitation, demolition and reconstruction, disaster repair, tenant-based rental assistance, acquisition, disaster recovery assistance, new construction, purchase assistance and program administration.

 

Staff wishes to amend the Local Housing Assistance Plan that includes State of Florida fiscal year 2016-2017 in order to recognize and allocate additional program income. The attached amendment allocates additional funding to the existing owner-occupied housing rehabilitation strategy and program administration. The amendment also carries forward a Housing Counseling allocation from the previous program year and introduces a new strategy for New Construction/Purchase Assistance without Rehabilitation. The New Construction/Purchase Assistance without Rehabilitation strategy is designed to facilitate investment in an anticipated affordable housing development to be constructed in the Liberia neighborhood.
