Staff Recommends: Approval Of The Attached Resolution

Explanation:

CRA staff identified two areas, each of which is above and below the Mean High Water line, within the Beach CRA district that have severe erosion conditions and other areas above the Mean High Water line outside the Beach CRA district that also have severe erosion conditions.

On May 3, 2017, the CRA Board via Resolution No. R-CRA-2017-17, authorized appropriate CRA Officials to issue an ATP to Applied Technology and Management Company (ATM) in the amount of $111,995.00 to provide engineering services for truck hauling beach renourishment project.  ATM prepared construction documents for the beach renourishment project and currently the Beach CRA is bidding out this project.

Hurricane Irma caused additional beach erosion and in order to quantify the erosion area Bathymetric Survey and Volumetric Analysis need to be performed to verify the amount of sand need to be added to the bid currently posted.  ATM provided proposal in the amount of $25,845.00 to perform the Bathymetric Survey and Volumetric Analysis.

The CRA has a continuing contract with Applied Technology & Management to provide coastal construction engineering services.  The necessary funds for this project are available from the CRA Public Beach Sand Renourishment account number 63.0100.22059.554.006312.
