Staff Recommends Approval of Attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

On April 13, 2017, the City of Hollywood's Community Development Advisory Board made final funding recommendations for various sub-grantees, including Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc., to provide services within the City of Hollywood.  In accordance with the City's citizen participation process approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City Commission shall consider and approve the Community Development Advisory Board's funding recommendations and execute an agreement with the approved agencies.

 

On June 21, 2017, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2017-181 which approved the 2017/2018 One Year Action Plan, including the Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc. Construction Job Training Program as an eligible activity for receipt of CDBG funds.

 

The attached resolution approves and authorizes the execution of the attached Agreement between Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc. and the City of Hollywood to facilitate the operation of LES's Construction Job Training Program.

 

Funding for this program is available in account number 11.1500.54655.554.008370.
