Explanation:

On February 4, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2015-018, which approved and authorized the appropriate City Officials to execute an automatic aid agreement for the joint coverage and mutual aid of fire rescue services with the Sheriff of Broward County, Florida on behalf of the City of Dania Beach.

The initial term of this agreement commenced retroactively to June 1, 2012 and expired on September 30, 2016 unless renewed by the parties and said renewals were automatic unless either party notified the other of its intent not to renew.

The current agreement was automatically renewed and expires on September 30, 2017.

After evaluating the operational needs of the City’s Fire Department and the impact of said automatic aid services under the existing agreement, the City’s Administration has determined that it is in the best interest of the City not to renew the agreement.
