Staff Recommends: The Approval Of The Attached Resolution


Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities requires the purchase of liquid chlorine as it is used in the disinfection of ocean outfall effluent and reuse effluent.

The required liquid chlorine was competitively bid by the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida who acted as the lead agency on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group which the City of Hollywood is a member.

The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida's Bid Number 973-11915 was opened on May 11, 2017 and was awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder by line item, Allied Universal Corporation, on June 20, 2017, for a two (2) year agreement with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

Allied Universal Corporation is currently providing these services to the City in a satisfactory manner.

The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contact Compliance Officer recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of the attached Blanket Purchase Order agreement for liquid chlorine to Allied Universal Corporation in an estimated annual amount of $215,000.00.
