Explanation:
The Police Department, the Public Utilities Department, the Office of Parking and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts require a contract for Uniformed, Armed and Unarmed Security Guard Services at their facilities.
On February 1, 2012, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2012-033, authorizing the issuance of a blanket purchase order to Tactical Protection Corporation of Miami, Florida as the primary vendor, and the issuance of a blanket purchase order to Regions Security Services, Inc. as the secondary vendor, to provide uniformed, armed and unarmed security guard services - Citywide, in accordance with Bid F-4264-11-RD, for a two (2) year period with the right to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.
Tactical Protection Corporation was notified on August 30, 2012, and again on September 7, 2012, of the City's concerns regarding unsatisfactory services being provided and on September 17, 2012, Tactical Protection Corporation notified the City in writing that they would like to terminate their service contract with the City of Hollywood.
Procurement Services recommended terminating Blanket Purchase Order B002354 awarded to Tactical Protection Corporation due to the vendor's request for termination.
On January 14, 2014, Regions Security Services, Inc. began, as the primary vendor, to provide uniformed, armed and unarmed security guard services - Citywide.
