Explanation:

The Department of Public Utilities requires a qualified firm to provide services for motor and pump repair throughout the City.

 

The Department of Public Utilities requires the services of a vendor to perform repairs and service for various large well pumps and motors such as high service pumps and motors, MS/RO train pumps and motors, as well as submersible pumps that includes the motor and pump as one assembly, and all other miscellaneous pumping equipment located citywide, and the repairs shall be classified as rebuild, reconditioning and/or replacement.

 

Martin County, Florida, issued Bid Number 2015-2780 for the required services which was due March 11, 2015.

 

Martin County, Florida approved the award of Bid Number 2015-2780 for Motor and Pump Repair to Tripp Electric Motors for an initial three (3) year period with renewal options for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

 

Tripp Electric Motors has agreed to extend the same terms, conditions and pricing as outlined in the Martin County, Florida agreement to the City of Hollywood.

 

The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of the attached Blanket Purchase Order agreement for motor and pump repair services to Tripp Electric Motors for the remainder of the initial term providing renewal options for two (2) additional one (1) year periods in an estimated annual amount of $135,000.00.

 

Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager.

 

Section 38.40 (C)(5) of the Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided however, the goods and services are: (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the United States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, which contract is based strictly on competitive bids or competitive proposals and not on any preference.

 

Funding has been provided in the fiscal year 2017 budget in the Public Utilities Department’s Account Numbers 42.4041.00784.536.005224, 42.4011.00762.536.004633, 43.4031.00000.538.004633 and 43.4031.00000.538.005225 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years (subject to the passage and adoption of each subsequent fiscal year’s Operating Budget by the City Commission).
