Explanation:
The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) identified the need for streetscape improvements along Hollywood Blvd from 21st Avenue to Young Circle within the downtown area.
On April 3, 2013, pursuant to Resolution R-CRA-2013-15, the CRA Board authorized the appropriate CRA officials to negotiate and execute contracts with 3 firms which were selected to provide engineering services for the CRA.
The CRA staff requested a proposal for festoon lighting and streetscape from the highest ranked consultant, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KH), and the company in turn prepared streetscape construction plans for the project including removal of trees, new trees, low voltage festoon lighting, and installation of 4 closed circuit cameras as requested by the Police Department.
On December 14, 2016, pursuant to Resolution R-CRA-2016-54, the CRA Board ranked construction management at risk firms for projects within the CRA Districts including streetscape improvements.
Burkhardt Construction Inc. was ranked first and has provided these services to the CRA in the past. The company has prepared a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal for a total cost of $1,118,741.05. This includes $984,492.12 for the lighting and streetscape improvements and $134,248.93 for installation of the closed circuit cameras.
