Explanation:
A public hearing on the proposed One Year Action Plan and projected use of funds for federal year 2017-2018 and a proposed amendment to the Five Year Consolidated Plan for federal program years 2014-2015 through 2018-2019 is required by the regulations governing the use of federal funds.
The Consolidated Plan is designed to help states and local jurisdictions to assess their affordable housing and community development needs and market conditions, and to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions. The Consolidated Plan is carried out through Annual Action Plans, which provide a concise summary of the actions, activities, and the specific federal and non-federal resources that will be used each year to address the priority needs and specific goals identified by the Consolidated Plan.
A notice to the public advising of the availability of a summary draft for public inspection of the One Year Action Plan and associated Five Year Consolidated Plan amendment was published in The Miami Herald Broward Main on May 12, 2017 and May 21, 2017. The Five Year Plan Amendment and the attached One Year Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 are available at the Community Development Division to allow the public the opportunity to review the preliminary recommendations of the CDAB and offer comments. Note that the proposed activities contained in the attached One Year Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 reflect the preliminary recommendations of the CDAB. The recommendations were previously presented to the City Commission during a workshop with the CDAB on April 6, 2017.
