Explanation:
The Police Department requires uniforms for approximately four hundred (400) personnel on an as needed, when needed basis.
On March 8, 2017, Notice of Availability of Bid Number F-4525-17-JE was posted on the City’s Website, advertised and sent to 3085 firms and viewed by 49 vendors on Bidsync.com in accordance with the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42(A)(1).
Bid Number F-4525-17-JE was opened at 3:00 P.M. on March 30, 2017, and resulted in responses from two (2) bidders:
Kina Group d/b/a/ All Uniform Wear $99,022.00
Miami, Florida
Gold Nugget d/b/a $118,990.61
Argo Uniform Company
Hallandale Beach, Florida
All Uniform Wear was determined to be the lowest responsive, responsible bidder to provide Police Uniform sales and services.
Police Officers are contractually provided three (3) complete sets of uniforms annually.
The estimated annual costs are based upon bid quantities to satisfy the City’s contractual requirements for the Police Department.
All Uniform Wear has provided a similar service to the City of Hollywood, and the City’s past experience with this company has been positive.
The quality of the product line provided by All Uniform wear Uniform Company meets the requirements of the Police Department.
After all Bids received were evaluated, the Chief of Police and the Director of Procurement and Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of the attached Blanket Purchase Order to the Kina Group d/b/a/ All Uniform Wear for a three (3) year period with the right to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods in an estimated annual amount of $99,022.00.
Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager, and indemnity to the City.
Funding for the attached Blanket Purchase Order has been provided for in the FY2017 budget in the Police Department’s Account Number 01.2042.00297.521.005242 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
