Explanation:
In 1994, a not-for-profit corporation named The Hollywood Economic Growth Corporation (the “Corporation”) was created in 1994.
In 1998, the name of the Corporation was changed to Hollywood Business Council, Inc. The Corporation has been inactive for years, and all parties agree that it should be dissolved.
To enable the dissolution of the Corporation to move forward, it is necessary for the City Commission to appoint two individuals to serve as directors of the Corporation. One appointee must be a member of the City Commission and the other must be an educator knowledgeable in workforce training issues.
Commissioner Kevin Biederman wishes to serve as a director of the Corporation.
Thomas A. Moncilovich, Assistant Director and Interim Principal of Sheridan Technical College, wishes to serve as a director of the Corporation.
