Explanation:
Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both men and women in the United States; and every eight minutes, one woman in the United States loses her battle with Lung Cancer. The Turquoise Task Force Committee and the American Lung Association in South Florida has asked the City of Hollywood to stand together - against lung cancer and for lung health - leading up to National Women’s Lung Health Week, or Turquoise Takeover Week, May 8-12, 2017.
The City of Hollywood will incorporate Turquoise into one of the “Theme Dress Days” during Public Service Recognition Week observed from May 7-13, 2017.
Michael Garcia will accept the proclamation on behalf of the Turquoise Task Force Committee and the American Lung Association in South Florida.
