Explanation:
The Department of Public Works has identified a need to replace the roof above the Martin Luther King Jr. Gymnasium Building. Specifications and details to replace the roof were prepared by a City consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued online via BidSync on February 9, 2017. The construction documents and specifications were viewed by forty-three (43) vendors and ten (10) vendors downloaded the Project Manual and specifications. The bids were opened publicly on Tuesday March 14, 2017 and six (6) responsive bids were received:

The administration found the low bid submitted by Therma Seal Roof Systems, LLC., to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $89,450.00.

The funding for the Martin Luther King Jr. Gymnasium Building project was approved in FY2017 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is available in account no. 34.5114.14452.519.006301 and account no. 34.5116.16452.519.006301, with successful consideration of award, construction is scheduled to start in May 2017 with completion in July 2017.
