Explanation:

At the completion of each fiscal year’s budget, past program years are reviewed for program compliance. A review was conducted by the Department of Development Services, Community Development Division, and it was determined that there are un-expended CDBG, HOME, NSP-1, and SHIP program funds and program income as follows:

 

CDBG -                      $137,857.44

HOME -                      $209,270.75

NSP-1 -                      $322,183.77

SHIP -                      $780,342.97

 

 

Staff has recommended uses for the aforementioned program funds and program income as follows:

 

CDBG -

Fair Housing Counseling -                                                                                                                               $  10,000.00

Advertisement of Housing Programs -                                                                                     $  10,000.00

Neighborhood Beautification and Capital Improvements -                      $117,856.44

The recommended uses of the aforementioned program funds and program income complies fully with applicable regulations and will facilitate additional resources for projects aimed at neighborhood beautification, capital improvements, housing development incentives, housing rehabilitation, purchase assistance, Fair Housing counseling, and administration.  The Community Development Advisory Board conducted a public hearing on February 8, 2017 to review the proposed amendments and forwarded a recommendation of approval to the City Commission.
