Explanation:
Public Works Maintenance staff identified the need to replace one (1) of two (2) existing chillers in the penthouse room on the roof of City Hall. It has reached the end of its useful life.
The construction documents were prepared by a consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued on October 25, 2016. A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting was held at the site on November 15, 2016 to review the existing site conditions. Five (5) bids were received and publicly opened on November 29, 2016. The responsive bidders were:
• Koldaire, Inc. $269,777.00
• SMG Air Conditioning $287,957.00
• Gibson Air Conditioning $290,000.00
• Precision Air Systems, Inc. $309,223.00
• Air Mechanical Service Corp. $351,562.00
The administration found the bid submitted by Koldaire, Inc, to be responsive and responsible, and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $269,777.00. Project funding is available in account no. 34.5116.16249.519.006301.
