Explanation:
The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts hosted the 61st annual Candy Cane Parade on Saturday, December 3, 2016 on Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. The theme of this year's parade was "Musical Notes & Peppermint Floats”.
Clear, starry skies overhead created picture-perfect weather for the Candy Cane Parade on Saturday, December 3rd. Upwards of 60 parade units celebrated the beginning of the holiday season to patrons, estimated at more than 23,000. Members of the Hollywood police Motor unit, Chief Sanchez and Police Command Staff led this year’s 61st Candy Cane Parade with elected and appointed officials, businesses, community groups and marching bands, complete with Santa and Mrs. Claus along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk.
