Explanation:
Parking Administrative staff identified the need to have a Condition Survey done on the Van Buren Street Garage and a Structural Engineer was hired to conduct the survey.
As a result of the survey, construction documents were prepared by the consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued on November 9, 2016. A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting was held at the site on November 30, 2016 to review the existing site conditions. Nine (9) bids were received and publicly opened on December 8, 2016. The responsive bidders were:
• Structural Integrity Contractors, Inc. $219,833.00
• Aduddell Industries $224,759.00
• Hayden Building Maintenance Corp. $242,242.00
• Contracting Specialists Inc. South East $249,254.00
• Concrete Protection & Restoration, Inc. $256,400.00
• Emerald Construction Corp. $318,984.00
• Stone Concept Miami, Inc. $425,000.00
• Lambert Brothers, Inc. $445,689.00
• G. Batista & Associates $497,000.00
The administration found the bid submitted by Structural Integrity Contractors, Inc, to be responsive and responsible, and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $219,833.00. Project funding is available in account no. 46.1100.14192.545.006301, 461100.12176.545.006301 & 46.1100.15192.545.006301.
