Explanation:
Subsection 155.14(H) of the City of Hollywood, Code of Ordinances provides for the City Commission approval of naming and renaming of streets and City facilities and for the establishment of application fees and procedures by resolution of the City Commission.
The City Commission, by Resolution Number R-2005-89, established Procedures for the Naming and Renaming of Properties, Facilities, Parks and Memorials.
The City Commission, by Resolution Numbers R-2009-037 and R-2013-197, amended the Procedures for the Naming and Renaming of Properties, Facilities, Parks and Memorials.
An application was submitted seeking to create a memorial for Alice D’Emilio, a long time City of Hollywood Employee that was also the City Arborist that designed many landscaping projects for the City and assisted in the landscape design for Lincoln Park, who passed away recently.
The City of Hollywood Commission seeks to honor Alice D’Emilio with the planting of a memorial tree and plaque at Lincoln Park.
The City of Hollywood Commission finds that the criteria for the naming of Properties, Facilities and Parks has been met and grants the application.
The City of Hollywood Commission, by a 5/7 vote can waive the $100.00 application fee.
