Explanation:
In the summer of 2012, Beach Maintenance staff lost their facility at the Johnson Street Garage and have been temporarily relocated to an old Fire Station on AIA. This Fire Station will soon be torn down to construct the new Nevada Street Parking Garage. A plan has been devised to relocate Beach Maintenance staff to two (2) temporary locations. In phase I staff will be relocated to a trailer that the City has purchased and will place on the FDOT parking lot under the Hollywood Boulevard Bridge. The trailer will accommodate offices, a break room, some storage and restrooms/showers for staff. The parking lot will be fenced. In Phase II (which is a separate project) an enclosed Truck Wash Building will be built behind the Hollywood Beach Community Center on Bougainvilla Terrace so equipment can be washed directly after leaving the beach and before returning to the compound under the bridge.

It is anticipated that Beach Maintenance staff will have a permanent office facility and truck wash facility on the east side of A1A at ground level once the FDOT Hollywood Boulevard Beach Ramp Realignment Project and the Grand Floridian Hotel Project and Entry Plaza are designed and constructed.

The construction documents were prepared by a consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued on September 7, 2016. A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting was held at the site on September 22, 2016 to review the existing site conditions. Three (3) bids were received and publicly opened on September 29, 2016. The responsive bidders were:
