Explanation:
The City of Hollywood historically provides General Fund Agency Grant financial assistance to non-profit organizations serving Hollywood residents. The grant's purpose is to assist in funding programs which provide significant benefits to the Hollywood citizens via non-profit organizations whose programs align with one or more of the following eight (8) areas of concentration: art and music, education concentrated in the areas of math and science, health, wellness and nutrition, shelter and housing, respite care and services, diversity and cultural outreach, training and career planning / development, and veteran services.

A review of the twenty-one (21) applications received for FY 2017 funding was conducted by the Community Development Advisory Board, with the recommendation that the grant program be continued and funds awarded to the non-profit organizations as listed in Exhibit 1.

Funding has been allocated in the City's Fiscal Year 2017 Operating Budget to continue the grant program in the amount of $180,000.00 in R-2016-284 passed and adopted on September 28, 2016 by the City of Hollywood Commission.
