Explanation:

In June 2016, the City Commission under Resolution No. R-2016-171, previously pre-qualified seven (7) General Contractors to bid on projects for Public Safety and Capital Improvement Projects valued in excess of one million dollars.  The plans and specifications for Fire Station No. 45 were prepared by consultants and City staff.  A Notice to Bidders was issued on July 7, 2016 and all seven (7) pre-qualified general contractors secured bid packages.

On August 11, 2016 two (2) bids were received and publicly opened.  The responsive bids were as follows:

                     West Construction Inc.                                                               $3,076,695.00

                     Lake Worth, FL

                     Di Pompeo Construction Corp.                                          $3,177,000.00

                     Pompano Beach, FL

The Director of Development Services and the Assistant City Manager for Public Safety reviewed the bids and determined that the bid submitted by West Construction, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bid.  They recommend the award of this contract to West Construction, Inc. in the amount of $3,076,695.00.
