Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to execute the attached Agreement between the City of Hollywood and the School Board of Broward County relating to the terms and conditions for the continuation of the School Resource Officer Program in our thirteen (13) local public elementary schools, seven (7) local public middle and high schools and one other school, Beachside Montessori, operated by the School Board of Broward County, for the 2016-2017 school year.  In accordance with the attached agreement term (Oct. 1, 2016 and concluding on June 9, 2017), the City of Hollywood will receive a total of $407,017.60 from the Broward County School Board for the deployment of three (3) School Resource Officers in the thirteen (13) public elementary schools, seven (7) School Resource Officers in the seven (7) middle and high schools and one (1) School Resource Officer at Beachside Montessori in the City of Hollywood as referenced in the Agreement. The payment from the Broward County School Board will partially defray some of the costs associated with the City’s School Resource Officer Program.
