Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Amending Resolution No. R-2010-320 In Order To Revise The Fees For Emergency Ambulance Transportation And To Include Fees For Non-Transport Treatment Services By The Hollywood Fire Rescue And Beach Safety Department And Providing An Effective Date.

Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The national fee schedule requires Medicare to base payment on the level of ambulance service required to treat the patient’s condition which results in insurance companies and providers revising their reimbursement schedule for ambulance transportation.

The Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department is recommending to the City Commission that fees for emergency ambulance transportation and services by the City of Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department be revised and set forth in accordance with the regulations of the Health Care Financing Administration.

By revising ambulance transport and service fees to be consistent with industry standards and surrounding agencies, the City of Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department will be able offset expenditures and continue to provide the highest level of emergency service.
