And The City Of Hollywood To Provide Additional  Professional Engineering Services For The Water Treatment Plant  High Service Pump Station Upgrade, As Identified In The 2007 Water System Master Plan, In A Lump Sum Amount Of $46,200.00 Increasing The Total Contract Amount To $299,600.00(Project No. 14-4233).

Explanation:

The 2007 Water System Master Plan identified the need to replace the existing high service pumps at the Water Treatment Plant.

 

On June 17, 2015, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2015-165 the City Commission, approved the issuance of Work Order No. MPI 15-03 to  Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis U.S., Inc. in the amount of $253,400.00, to provide professional engineering services for design, permitting and bid assistance for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) High Service Pump Station Upgrade project.

 

The approved design services are progressing; however additional services are required to perform a physical modeling of the High Service Pump Station.

 

A proposal was received from Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis U.S., Inc. for the additional professional engineering services in the amount of $46,200.00.

 

Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis U.S., Inc. and the City of Hollywood have a Professional Services Agreement for General Engineering Consulting Services for Water projects, which was approved by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. R-2003-002 on January 8, 2003; was amended pursuant to Resolution No. R-2012-152 on June 6, 2012; renewed pursuant to Resolution No. R-2013-110 on May 1, 2013; and further renewed by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. R-2015-068 on April 1, 2015. this agreement has a provision for insurance and indemnification that meets the City’s requirements and gives the City the right to terminate for convenience.

 

The Department of Public Utilities recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City Officials to execute the attached Authorization to Proceed for Amendment No. 1 to Work Order No. MPI 15-03 between Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis U.S., Inc. and the City of Hollywood in a lump sum amount of $46,200.00.

 

Funding for the project has been provided pursuant to Resolution No. R-2015-345 which continued the appropriation for previously approved capital projects from FY 2015 to FY 2016, and is available in account number 42.4000.75413.536.003121.

 

The tasks included in the proposal will be implemented in phases and the services will be completed in approximately three (3) months;
