Explanation:
The 2007/2008 Wastewater System Master Plan identified the need to implement several capital improvement projects related to the continued assessment, renewal and replacement of the major components of the City's sewer collection system.
This project will replace a portion of an existing 16 inch sewer force main servicing Lift Station E-8.
Department of Public Utilities staff prepared the related contract technical specification and drawings.
On June 7, 2016, the Department of Public Utilities staff advertised the project, soliciting for qualified construction services, and July 7, 2016 two (2) bid proposals were received at the Office of the City Clerk and were publicly opened at the Southern Regional Wastewater Plant with the following results:

After thoroughly evaluating the bid proposals for compliance with the contract documents, Department of Public Utilities staff determined that the lowest bidder, Sun Up Enterprises, Inc., is the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
A Notice of Intent to Award related to the project was posted on the City of Hollywood website, DemandStar, and was sent via email on July 19, 2016 to all the bidders, and the posting of the notice resulted in no apparent bid protestors.
