The Department of Public Works, Fleet Division requires the outfitting of six (6) Chevrolet Tahoe Police vehicles with emergency and related equipment.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued Bid No: 13104030 for Outfitting of Police Vehicles, for a two (2) year period with the right to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

Upon evaluation of the bid responses, on August 12, 2013, the Broward Sheriff’s Office awarded the bid to Strobes-R-Us, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, for the outfitting of police vehicles with emergency equipment, for the initial two (2) year period.

In July 2015 the Broward Sheriff’s Office approved the renewal of the contract with Strobes-R-Us for the first one (1) year renewal period for the outfitting of Police Vehicles.

Strobes-R-Us has provided satisfactory services to the City in the past with positive results.

Section 38.40 (C)(5) of the Purchasing Ordinance allows the Director to procure, without following formal procedures, all goods and services which are subject of contracts with the state, its political subdivisions, the United States government, other governmental entities, or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, provided however, the goods and services are: (i) the subject of a price schedule negotiated by the state or the United States government, or (ii) the subject of a contract with another governmental entity or a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, public officers, or any combination thereof, which contract is based strictly on competitive bids or competitive proposals and not on any preference.
