Explanation:
The Legislature of the State of Florida, enacted Part III of Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, (The Community Redevelopment Act of 1975, referred to herein as the "Act").

In Resolution No. R-79-8, the City Commission of the City of Hollywood, Florida, declared that slum and blighted areas existed within the corporate limits of said City. The Community Redevelopment Plan for the Central City Study Area (the "Plan") was adopted by the City Commission pursuant to Ordinance No. O-81-3 and as amended by Ordinance Nos. O-85-60, O-91-69, O-93-31, O-95-32.

Pursuant to Ordinance No. O-97-26, the Plan consists of both the Downtown District and the Hollywood Beach Redevelopment Area.

The Plan for the Downtown District was last amended pursuant to Ordinance No. O-95-32, and with the significant planning efforts and development progress over the past 20 years, CRA staff determined that it was necessary to update the Downtown District of the Plan to be consistent with the goals and objectives of the redevelopment effort of the Downtown CRA.

On January 20, 2016, the CRA staff presented the proposed Amended and Restated Redevelopment Plan to the CRA Board and the CRA Board supported moving forward with the amendments to the Plan.
