Explanation:
The Department of Information Technology desires to increase the spending as part of the wired communication services infrastructure.
On February 4, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2015-031, which approved and authorized the Department of Information Technology to obtain wired communications services in the amount of $23,500.00 over a three year term for Pro CABS circuits.
The Department of Information Technology is requesting to transfer $86,500.00 from Resolution Number R-2015-030 to Resolution Number R-2015-031, due to the deprecation of legacy communication services that are no longer supported and has required the City to transition from Frame Relay circuits which were covered under Resolution Number R-2015-030 to Pro CABS circuits which are now covered under Resolution Number R-2015-031.
The service consists of Pro CABS circuits (high capacity DS1s) which represent part of the City's complex wired communications service infrastructure that connects approximately 300 Police laptops to local City services.
The service consists of Pro CABS circuits (high capacity DS1s) which are provided as secure wired communications between the Public Utilities sites (Fresh Water, Underground Utilities, Waste Water) and similar required remote access for future connectivity.
