Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

This Resolution seeks authorization for the appropriate City Officials to apply for a non-matching “Community Policing Development” grant.  This grant, which is offered through the United States Department of Justice, does not require the expenditure of City funds.  If the grant is awarded, the Police Department will use the funds for training, overtime, equipment purchases, and community-oriented research.
