Explanation:
The Police Department/Code Enforcement requires services for lot clearing and tractor mowing, hedge trimming, tree trimming and removal of all other identified debris from non-maintained improved properties and vacant lots in order to keep the properties up to code throughout the City.

On May 7, 2014, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2014-106, which authorized the services of lot clearing and tractor mowing on non-maintained, improved properties and vacant lots for a one (1) year period with the right to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

On May 20, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2015-127, which authorized Blanket Purchase Order with Weed-A-Way, Inc. for the lot clearing and tractor mowing on non-maintained, improved properties and vacant lots for the first one (1) year renewal period.

Over the past year, Weed-A-Way, Inc. has provided satisfactory services to the City and the vendor has agreed to renew for the second and final, one (1) year renewal period under the same terms, conditions and pricing.

The Assistant City Manager/Public Safety and the Contract Compliance Officer recommend that the City Commission authorize the issuance of the attached Blanket Purchase Order renewal to Weed-A-Way, Inc. in the estimated annual amount $120,000.00.

Funding has been appropriated in the FY2016 budget in the Lot Mowing Account Number 01.1112.00143.539.004648 and funding will be requested in subsequent fiscal years.
