Explanation:
Police Officers are contractually provided three (3) complete sets of uniforms annually.
On June 6, 2012, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2012-161, which authorized the purchase of Police Uniforms from Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company for a three (3) year period with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
On May 20, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2015-128, which authorized the renewal purchase of Police uniforms from Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company for the first one (1) year renewal period.
The current agreement will expire on June 5, 2016, and the Police Department desires to renew the current Blanket Purchase Order for the second and final one (1) year renewal period.
The estimated annual costs are based upon bid quantities and usage to satisfy the City’s contractual requirements for the Police Department.
Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company has provided uniforms to the City of Hollywood since 2006, and the City’s past experience with this company has been positive.
The quality of the product line provided by Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company meets the requirements of the Police Department.
The Chief of Police and the Contract Compliance Officer recommend that the City Commission approve the renewal of the attached Blanket Purchase Order in an estimated amount of $200,000.00 with Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company of Hallandale, Florida for the purchase of Police Uniforms for the second and final one (1) year renewal period.
Renewal is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk, and indemnity to the City.
Funding for the attached Blanket Purchase Order has been provided for in the fiscal year 2016 budget in the Police Department’s Account Number 01.2042.00297.521.005242; and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
