A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Authorizing The Appropriate City Officials To Apply For And If Awarded Accept FY2016 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program Grant Funds From The Bureau Of Justice Assistance In The Approximate Amount Of $38,500.00 As Partial Reimbursement For The Purchase Of Bulletproof Vests; Authorizing The Contribution Of Federal Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds Pursuant To The Federal Comprehensive Crime Control Act Of 1984 In The Approximate Amount Of $38,500.00 As Required Matching Funds For This Purpose; And Further Authorizing Upon Said Grant Award, The Execution Of An Award Agreement And Any Other Applicable Documents By The Appropriate City Officials In Order To Accept Said Grant Funds; Amending The Fiscal Year 2016 Adopted Operating Budget (R-2015-294) For The Law Enforcement Forfeiture Fund 12, Revising Operating Revenues, Authorizing Budgetary Adjustments, Expenditures, And Transfers As Detailed In Exhibit 1; And Authorizing The Department Of Financial Services To Establish Account(s) As May Be Needed.

Explanation:
The Police Department desires to apply for FY 2016 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program grant funds from the Bureau of Justice Assistance which if awarded, provides partial reimbursement for new bulletproof vests. The grant application seeks an award of $38,500.00 and together with $38,500.00 in matching Federal Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds, will be used to defray the entire purchase of new bulletproof vests. The bulletproof vest is required safety gear for Police Officers. Certain accounts will need to be established in the appropriate fund to recognize the grant funding, if awarded, and appropriate the identified program funding for program related expenditures.
