Explanation:

The American Humane Association created "Be Kind to Animals Week" in 1915 to recognize the unique bond between humans and animals.  "Be Kind to Animals Week" also promotes our nation's animal welfare organizations and encourages everyone to get involved with making a difference for animals.  Special events are generally scheduled to celebrate the week and to raise awareness about the need to be kind to animals.

This year the Office of Code Compliance will be sponsoring a Pet Adoption Day and Pet Food/Supply Drive on May 4th.  Broward County Animal Care and Regulations will be sponsoring a Pet Vaccination Day on May 14^th at David Park.
