Explanation:
The Engineering and Architectural Services Division implements the sidewalk improvement projects adopted under the City's Capital Improvement Programs to include the ADA Sidewalk/Ramp program, the CDBG Sidewalk program, the City Facilities Sidewalk program and the continuation of the 50/50 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program, a voluntary partnership project between the City of Hollywood and its residents. This program, originally established back in 2001, has been successfully implemented since its inception. Property owners are able to take advantage of the competitive low pricing, choose to have the City's contractor perform and manage the sidewalk work, and pay upon completion or make monthly payments over a term of up to two years, lessening the financial burden to maintain the sidewalk infrastructure. Funding for the 50/50 Shared Cost program is distributed throughout the City and is also supplemented at times by Community Block Grant Funds, which are utilized for sidewalk improvement projects in eligible neighborhoods.

The Project was electronically advertised via BidSync in accordance with the City's Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42(A) on February 26, 2016. The project specifications were viewed online by sixty-two (62) vendors and nineteen (19) of them downloaded them. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on March 11, 2016.
