The Hollywood Police Department is the recipient of two awards from Broward County Public Schools, the Mentor Program of the Year Award for its work with students at Hollywood Park Elementary School, and the Partnership of the Year Award for its collaboration with Hollywood Central Elementary School. The department was selected to receive these awards for its Mentoring, Shop With A Cop, Holiday Toy/Food Drive, Cops Reading to Kids, GREAT (Gang Resistance Education and Training), and Roll Call on Campus programs. Ms. Wanda Robinson, representative of Broward County Public Schools, will present these awards to Chief Tomas Sanchez and members of the Hollywood Police Department Youth Services Section.
