Explanation:
The Department of Information Technology (IT) has the operational need to elevate the level of security of the City's network infrastructure as an element of the City's Security Initiative and require the purchase of a security appliance unit which will monitor all network activity in between the nodes that are connected to the City's network.
The Department of Information Technology staff researched other available security appliance units and identified and selected the ForeScout CounterACT CT4000A security appliance unit to meet their operational needs and the unit is available from ImmixTechnology,Inc. located in McLean, Virginia.
The Department of Information Technology staff performed a sixty (60) day evaluation process on the ForeScout CounterACT CT4000A security appliance and the unit has proven to be a very effective tool in mitigating various attempts of breaching security perimeters of the City's network.
ImmixTechnology, Inc. was awarded the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule IT 70, contract number GS-35F-0265X, titled General Purpose Commercial Information Technology Equipment, Software, and Services; on which the requested security appliance unit is available and ImmixTechnology, Inc. has agreed to provide this product to the City, under similar pricing, terms and conditions.
