Explanation:
The City of Hollywood was authorized to negotiate an agreement with Safeware on July 2, 2014 and executed this agreement on February 18, 2015 for the creation of separate network system to support Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) devices to server as a deterrent to crime and to assist Police staff in resolving crimes.

Because the agreement set forth that the project was to implemented in sequential phases, where the first phase had to be completed and accepted before succeeding phases could occur and because there were several issues discovered since February 18, 2015, City Staff has been working to resolve all of the prerequisite network infrastructure issues which were identified.

This included the 6 month remediation of the PDHQ radio tower, verification that the City had to purchase and install City owned poles as opposed to utilizing existing ones, and negotiation and acquisition of agreements and easements to needed locations for providing adequate coverage for critically identified locations. It also included a much needed hardening and separation of the network to reduce the risk of affecting core city infrastructure and security included in the agreement.

The initial agreement which allowed for reconfiguration and alternate locations but not for the additional locations and equipment. The amended agreement incorporates and addresses the work needed to include the additional locations by providing additional quotes for this work at the North Beach and Renaissance Condo Associations, and the related network...
