Staff Recommends: Presentation of Awards.

Explanation:
The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts hosted the 60th annual Candy Cane Parade on Saturday, December 5, 2015 on Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. The theme of this year's parade was "Sea of Lights".

Mother Nature smiled on Hollywood Beach as day turned to evening, ending the raindrops just in time for parade step off allowing parade goers to enjoy the more the more than fifty entries combining marching bands, decorated floats, children's groups and of course, Santa. Upwards of 750 participants, excitement and more candy canes than one could hope for were tossed to the crowd.

This year's judges were challenged in choosing the winners due to the large number of fantastic entries. We are extremely proud to recognize this year's parade winners.

BEST SCHOOL MARCHING UNIT:
1st Place: Fort Lauderdale High School "Sounds of Lauderdale" Band

BEST MARCHING GROUP:
1st Place: Dance to Life Dance Studios

MOST ORIGINAL:
1st Place: Four Generations of Hollywoodians

BEST CHILDREN'S ENTRY:

BRIGHTEST OF THE NIGHT:
1st Place: Hollywood Department of Public Utilities

BEST NON-PROFIT ENTRY:
1st Place: Mahi Shriners

BEST BUSINESS ENTRY:
1st Place: Dig-It Landscapes

As an added feature of the Candy Cane Parade, judges representing the Hollywood Beach Business Association utilize the Sea of Lights theme to review exterior lighting for broadwalk facing properties in the parade route. The decorations within the beach area not only enhanced the parade but the entire Holiday Season. The winners submitted by the HBBA of the Hospitality Awards are:
