Explanation:
A group of regional and local experts gathered together to design strategies which may serve as a model of resilience for communities throughout the southeast Florida region. The objective was to identify the physical and planning adaptions necessary to reduce the risk and potential for disruptions, damage and economic losses associated with climate change, severe storms, water supply constraints and population growth, while considering the preservation of historic and community character. Although these design strategies were organized around specific case studies, the ultimate goal was to develop transferable models relevant to development and re-development opportunities.
