Explanation:
The collection of solid waste and recycling for the Arapahoe Farms and Young Israel communities is currently taking place through Waste Management as opposed to the City hauler, Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. These services need to be transferred to regular City services.

The Arapahoe Farms and Young Israel communities were annexed into the City of Hollywood from Broward County on September 15, 2001. Florida Statue 171.062 allows annexed communities to continue existing franchised services for a period of five years after annexation. As such, R-2001-345 was executed on October 25, 2001 allowing for Broward County to continue providing solid waste collection services until December 31, 2001. On July 17, 2002, resolution R-2002-257 authorized the execution of an agreement between Browning-Ferris Industries of Florida, Inc (BFI) and the City of Hollywood for solid waste collection. At the time of the annexation, BFI provided the solid waste services to these areas and was under contract with Broward County.

Since the time of the July 17, 2002 resolution, solid waste collection services for these annexed areas have been collected through BFI which was later sold to Waste Management.
