Explanation:
The State Housing Initiatives Partnership ("SHIP Act"), S.S. 420.907-420.9079, Florida Statutes, and Rule 67-37, Florida Administrative Code, requires local governments to develop a one to three-year Local Housing Assistance Plan outlining how the allocated funds will be used.

In addition, local governments must annually report on the new and existing housing benefiting from awards made pursuant to the funding. City staff met the requirements of this rule by presenting the Annual Report at a public meeting before the City Commission on August 26, 2015.

Fiscal Year 2013/2014 program funds were derived from a unique appropriation of SHIP funds allocated through Senate Bill 1852. The Fiscal Year 2013/2014 SHIP allocation had unique expenditure and reporting requirements. Therefore, City staff is adhering to funding direction by reporting on the Fiscal Year 2013/2014 allocation as a final close-out report via this Annual Report specific to the funding year allowing a submission to the State of Florida prior to October 31, 2015.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation is requesting that all local governments present the SHIP-AR at a public meeting of the local Governing Body.

The Community Development Division has prepared a SHIP-AR and is presenting it to the City Commissioners prior to submitting the document to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
